‘’We learned a lot from exposures and hands-on experiences. We went to libraries and had simple storytelling sessions with the children there,’’ says Puan Zaliza, Founder of Genius Aulad. ‘’The Islamic development there is growing rapidly. It is indeed a non-muslim country, but the Islamic institutions there are indisputable,”.

The United Kingdom is also well known as an education hub. We would feel our mission is not complete if we didn’t go there to seek possible future affiliations.

Sound familiar? Don’t all of us just wish there was one final solution? A solution to those loathed habitual problems? According to THE manual of life – the alQuran – the answer to all that is right in our neighbourhood. It is the masjid or musolla itself. It is just a matter of popping the question : ”Why don’t we spend more time at the Masjid, like we always do at the park?”.

Every time our family arrive at the Masjid or Musolla, remind our little ones that we learn a lot from the simple things we do. We learn respect by behaving in proper manner before, during and after performing prayers. From our effort of going to His house everyday, we adopt discipline. After taking the wudhu’, turning off the water taps can prevent us from wasting it. And just by sitting down, waiting for the Imam to arrive, we can sought in rewards for the Hereafter.

So to all admirable parents of Genius Aulad – going to the house of Allah is not just for occasional prayers, it can be a session to change ourselves for the better. Me and My Musolla Trip was planned for this purpose of learning to love the Masjid.

Our little khalifahs were clearly ecstatic while on their journey to the neighbourhood Masjid. They recited the Du’a together, and sang songs that remind them of how wonderful Allah is in every way. When they arrived at the doors of the Masjid, the children arranged their shoes messily on the shoe rack. Some of them even arranged them in order of colors!

After they had taken their Wudhu’, the children were redirected to the praying hall, where they were told to lower their voices to respect others who were performing their prayers. ‘Oh, kita kena hormat ya?’ said one boy. Clearly he understood that ‘respect’ is one of the most important character in life. When they were done reciting their honest and sincere Dua’ to Allah individually, the children were all in the spirit of giving. In fact, they were all for it when our teachers offered the donation box to them.

Discipline. Respect. Honesty. Sharing. Some of the most important traits to live with.

Children are not to be compared to one another. Each and every child’s brain and body development has been gifted in many unique ways by Allah s.w.t, so what’s the hustle and bustle? Just take your time and have heaps of fun.

The mothers of ‘Read To Me, Mom’ also shared the know-hows of encouraging them to balance learn and play. Reading together on the couch and making sock puppets for ‘storytime’ are not just ingredients of laughter for our little ones.. it could also be a stress-reliever from work too!

Approved. A simple yet short word to explain our new experience. On the 16^th of December 2010 Genius Aulad’s crew went to PWTC, Kuala Lumpur for ‘Majlis Penganugerahan Lesen Francais 2010, Kementerian Perdagangan Dalam Negeri , Koperasi dan Kepenggunaan’. It was an event as our franchising license came to succeed. We are welcoming our five new franchisee for Genius Aulad at Bandar Baru Bangi, Bandar Botanic, Bandar Kinrara, Seksyen 23 Shah Alam and four centers in Kuala Lumpur.

This event was officiated by Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaacob, the Minister of Domestic trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism. We would also like to give our appreciation to Tuan Said, our franchising consultant. From now ahead, Genius Aulad’s mission can be spread widely. We are glad to achieve this stage of development as this shows that people are will to entrust us to educate more children in the future. Thank you for believing in Genius Aulad!

March and scream your lungs out! Fret not as Pedagogical Continuous Improvement program was held. It is also known as our training camp program for our teachers. It was a two-day activity held from 9^th to 17^th of December 2010. This activity took place in Intekma Resort, Shah Alam for the 1^st and 2^nd camp whilst the third one was held at Kota Kemuning Golf & Country Club.

In this program, our teachers had their own fun time to act, guiding through mock teaching session, creative time with recycle materials and lastly, our very own Emotion Quotient time with a training and consultancy expert, En. Mustafa Zainal. This program was meant for our teachers to improve their teaching skills for our children in the future.

Apart from that, this camp has brought all the teachers from all the centers of Genius Aulad closer together. Although some teachers were already assigned to move to another center, it was an opportunity for them to get to know the other teachers and their experience too. Alhamdulillah, we hope that our teachers will become better teachers and to love our children in guiding to become better Khalifah of Allah.

We felt so grateful to receive a lot of responds of interests among new family who enroll their children to Genius Aulad. On top of that, we were so happy to see everyone was enjoying their storytelling time with Che’ Am from Raihan! Besides  that, our children were able to brush up their skills with our fun with coloring activities and exciting puzzle games!

To complete our Open Day, everyone went home with contentment. Meals were prepared specially catered to our children and parents who had their day with us after having all activities. Event parents were happy to see their children happily explored our schools and gained a lot of knowledge on our Open Day itself. We are so delighted and honoured to be given the trust to educate our kids in the upcoming term. 2011, may it will be another knowledge achievement and improvement year ahead.

Highlights of the event

The rehearsal began with the arrival of buses filled our cheerful kids starting from 8.30am until every future graduates arrived around 9.30am. Whilst inside the mosque is where everything was being arranged by the fellow teachers and principals of Genius Aulad. They ran back and forth to set up the sound systems, projectors, laptops and mock up of the props. The arrangement was made so that the graduation ceremony and the performance is done alternately centre by centre.

Everything was cut short as the rehearsal began around 10.00am and ended by 1.00pm. Although there were no actual costumes, props and visual effects prepared, our kids performed happily on the stage. When the rehearsal ended, everyone waited for their bus while enjoying their lunch with each other.

‘Playschool is here. Let’s go to school to play!’ – is what we want to teach the early pre-schoolers.

Aiming at 2 to 3 years old, this playschool program is where kids learn to play and play to learn. Confused? Playschool is a new program offered by Genius Aulad. It is all about playing, having fun and enjoy.

This program is non-academic based and the aim is to create an atmosphere of learning through play, opportunities that nurture the physical, emotional, social, intellectual growth and most importantly, ISLAMIC values instilled for each child.

Such positive concept is the one that shape a child’s future experiences.

As it is essentially important that school is a place where the child would enjoy learning and that both individual and group works have rewarding activities.

Other than that, the program is based upon a fun challenging broad-based educational program incorporating free play and structured play, based around a child’s interest.

The children at this age are encouraged to participate in group art, language, drama, music and movement, cognitive development, stories, puzzles and games.

At the same time we also provide activities where children are put in smaller group to enable them to build up solid relationship with adult with other children of their own age and also to allow children to work on challenging tasks at their own level.

The session is available 2 and 3 times weekly for a 2 hour-session for participating outlets of Genius Aulad.
